Step 3.2: Enabling and Confirming Liability Insurance

If enabled for your organization, Supervision Assist will automatically associate active liability insurance with placement applications. If the liability insurance start date is in the future,  the liability insurance will be stored in uploaded documents until the start date.


If there is no active liability insurance, students will not be able to utilize the activity log. They will not be able to enter hours for the days that there is no active liability insurance.


Enabling Insurance for your school.

Insurance can be enabled by following these steps:

  1. From your dashboard click Organization.
  2. Choose My Organization.
  3. Scroll down to Organization Settings click Edit Settings.
  4. Toggle on Require Individual Trainee Insurance.
  5. Save

Turning Off Insurance for Individual Training Plans

Some Training Plans do not require liability insurance.  If you would like to turn this off for an individual plan follow these instructions:

  1. From your dashboard click Training then Training Plans.
  2. Click on the training plan that you want to turn liability insurance off.
  3. Click Edit Plan.
  4. Uncheck Require Insurance.
  5. Save.

Confirm Insurance by Group

You may check all placement applications for active insurance by using the following steps;

  1. Select Training > Placement Applications.
  2. Under the Insurance column confirm if insurance has been "Applied" or is "Missing".
  3. Click the Insurance column to sort by type.

Confirm Insurance of an Individual

The best way to review an individuals insurance coverage is to check their most recent Placement Application.

On the Placement Application Details page you can confirm coverage by checking the Trainee Liability Insurance in the Required Forms section. You may check the blue link (A) to view the document, and view the coverage dates (B) to confirm it will be active for the duration of the placement.
